with a bi-monthly injection of 10 cc of methionine protein complex. While
this is not a permanent cure, it has for time being corrected the imbalance
allowing Mr. West to participate in Starfleet.

PERSONAL INFORMATION
P.O.B.:
Buffalo, New York, North American Continent, Earth
Age: 29
Standard Years
Born: March 13,
2348
Marital Status:
Single
Family: Father:
Charles West, an ambassador to the xenophobic and often
agressive Tholian Assembly. Charles was never interested in a Starfleet
life, however he always supported the fleet and it’s many brave souls. Charles
played a key role in the Dominion peace talks and now serves as a diplomatic
envoy to Tholia.
Mother: Erica
West, a xenobiologist. She is the first Federation scientist
to be allowed a look at the long secretive Tholian home planet of Tholia. The
work she has done in the past has brought a vast ammount of knowledge to the
Federation. Her work has even taken her to the Baku homeworld. She was the
only civilian to be allowed to work on planet during the failed duckblind
mission.
Attitude/Personality:
Mr. West is perhaps one of those people who can wear
many “hats” and yet still not loose sense of who he really is. Generally, he
is a polite and kind person who has the ability to get along with most
people. While not exactly a talkative person, he isn’t shy either. West
likes to have fun, but when crunch time roles around, he doesn’t kid around. An
attitude like that could cost lives.
Strengths: A
determined leader, and a logical thinker. A well rounded
individual, he is knowledgable on many subjects. However, he is an expert on
bridge protocall and operations as well as being a liasion between officers
and the rest of the crew. He is dedicated to his duty and is loyal to those
above and below him.
Weaknesses: Mr.
West tends to take on too much responsibility and he
attempts to do too much by himself. He may sacrifice his own health if it means
saving lives or completing a mission. He also needs to feel liked by the other
members of a unit or group. He does not seem to handle arguments very well.
Nor does he like being made fun of.

HISTORY: Lance
Darren West was born to the loving parents of Charles and
Erica West on March 13, 2348. They lived in a small house near the large
city of Buffalo in New York. For years, the family raised a child who was always
interested in things like hockey, and playing war with his friends during
the fierce New York winters. Although his parents had to leave many times
because of their careers, Lance never lost touch with where his home was or who
his
friends were. His parents tried very hard to give him a traditional
upbringing, not one where Lance would be stuck in some small room abord a
starship or off wandering about some backwater spacestation. It was due to
the hard work of Charles and Erica that helped to foster Lance’s infatuation
with space. However, at age 7, Lance developed a neuro-muscular imbalance.
For the first time in over 100 years, a person living in the Federation was
suffering from a genetic defect. A gene on the X-chromosome was turned off
for lack of a better term, and was not producing enough protein for the
muscles. Thus, he became weak during some periods. Recently, there has been
a vaccine to stop this ailment. Before his assignment to Boot Camp, Lance had
taken a vacation with his best friend to Mars. While hiking over the Martian
Polar caps, there was a slight accident in which part of the cap caved in
and the two friends were trapped. While trying to escape, Lance’s friend
accidently stepped on Lance’s arm with his cleat. The cut was left for
several days until a rescue party came to pick the boys up. Medical was able
to clean the cut and heal it, however Lance chose to keep the scar as a
reminder to stay safe during times of danger. Overall, Lance is a basic,
normal kid.
